Frequently asked questions
The d&b audiotechnik E12-D is a passive two-way coaxial loudspeaker engineered to provide wide, even coverage in a compact enclosure. Its 110° × 50° dispersion makes it particularly well suited to conferences, corporate events, concerts and permanent installations where consistent sound distribution is essential. Its multifunction enclosure also allows it to be used as a main loudspeaker, stage monitor or delay speaker.
Both models share the same acoustic design and overall performance. The main difference lies in the horn dispersion. The E12 provides 80° × 50° coverage, while the E12-D offers a wider 110° × 50° pattern, making it ideal for covering larger audiences with fewer loudspeakers. The horn can also be rotated to provide a 50° × 110° dispersion.
The E12-D is ideal for conferences, conventions, concerts, theatres, houses of worship, audiovisual productions and corporate events. When combined with an E15X-SUB or B4-SUB subwoofer, it becomes a powerful full-range system capable of delivering high sound pressure levels while maintaining excellent speech intelligibility.
The E12-D is optimised for use with d&b DSP amplifiers including the D20, D25, D40, D80 and D90, as well as the 10D, 25D, 30D and 40D installation amplifiers. It can also operate in E12-DX mode, allowing an E12-D loudspeaker and an E15X-SUB subwoofer to be powered from a single compatible amplifier channel.
